Hilo is one of the few ports along the Pride of America cruise where some are setup with tables right inside the terminal building when you first get off the ship that morning. You will still wand to pre-book them if you want to secure a spot as most are there just to pick up the people that already booked 3rd party tours. While working on the ship with shore excursions I would interact with the group leaders and guests who took 3rd party tours. By the end of the trips a lot of the guests were hugging the tour operator and talking about how much they loved the tour and look forward to coming back to Hawaii to do more with them.

Kona is the only tender port while sailing with the Pride of America. This is a lot of crew members and guests favorite ports since once you get over on the tender boat you're dropped off pretty much in the middle of town. With the bus pick-up location right there along with the taxi area you can easily do 3rd party tours. Just make sure you get over there at least an hour early by getting a tender ticket which I explain more of how that works in our Tender Guide.

What is nice about Kauai while cruising on the Pride of America is that this is another overnight port. You arrive Thursday morning and will leave in the afternoon normally around 5pm unless the ship made changes and leaves by 1-2pm which you would know way ahead of time when you book the cruise. This is a great port for Helicopter tours and Luau's.
